President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Major General Walid Abu Al-Majd, chairman of the Armed Forces Logistics and Supply Authority, and Mr. Yasser Heikal, chairman of the Board of Directors of Amoun Shipping Agencies.

Spokesperson of the Presidency, Ambassador Bassam Rady, stated that the meeting tackled the development of maritime transport and port management in Egypt.

The meeting also reviewed the steps already taken in this regard with the main port authorities in Egypt in Alexandria, Demiatt, Port Said and the Red Sea, in coordination between the concerned authorities in the maritime transport system in Egypt, from the companies operating in shipping, unloading, supplies, container handling and major shipping agencies.

During the meeting, President Sisi directed to modernize and develop the maritime transport sector in a manner that achieves the maximum economic, commercial and investment return.

This should be also consistent with the determinants of Egyptian national security, and contributes to the strategy and approach of the state to promote intra-trade movement to and from Egypt, thus supporting export opportunities and covering needs.
