Sisi Directs Gov't to Boost Precautionary Measures Against Corona

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has ordered the government and the competent executive bodies to take the necessary steps towards boosting the precautionary measures followed nationwide, in light of the timely follow-up of the measures to combat the spread of Coronavirus.

" In light of the timely follow-up of the measures to combat the spread of Coronavirus ... I have tasked the government and the competent executive authorities to take the necessary measures towards boosting the precautionary measures followed at both the state and citizens levels through taking an additional package of actions that would contribute to achieving the highest safety rates, according to fixed determinants based on achieving Egyptians' safety and to not affect the requirements of their daily life," Sisi posted on Facebook and Twitter.

"I have full trust in the response of the great Egyptian people to these measures, in a manner that preserves the safety and security of our beloved country, Egypt," the president continued. "God bless Egypt and its people."

It is scheduled that Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli will hold a press conference today's afternoon to announce a number of deterrent measures within the framework of the country's efforts to curb the spread of Coronavirus.

It is worth mentioning that, Egypt has so far registered 366 coronavirus cases, including 19 deaths.

Egypt's health ministry has stepped up precautionary measures in the affected governorates and intensified campaigns to spread awareness about infectious diseases.

It also raises its preparedness at all the country’s ports and airports to monitor the virus developments, receiving inquires from citizens about the virus through its hotline 105 or 15335.

Egypt's president has allocated L.E. 100 billion to fund the anti-Coronavirus strategy and its related precautionary measures.
