Sisi Calls for Developing Public Universities, Ain Shams Hospitals

During a meeting with Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi followed up on efforts to develop public universities, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

Sisi met on Thursday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning, and Major General Mohamed Amin, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Financial Affairs Dr. Mahmoud Al-Matini, President of Ain Shams University.

"Sisi called for providing full support to the public education system to achieve the targeted quality of education, by expanding the national projects for the public university system nationwide," said Rady.

In this context; the president asked for the development of the Ain Shams University Hospitals area and its complete re-planning, within the framework of establishing the Medical City of Ain Shams University, while providing the necessary financial allocations for this vital project that will serve thousands of patients.

He also ordered the government to develop the main axes of the Abbasia area and square to eliminate traffic jams and to facilitate the movement for university students and citizens.

For his part, Abdel Ghaffar reviewed current and future projects in public universities, 427 projects at a cost of about 36 billion pounds distributed over 27 governments.

In this context, the Minister of Higher Education presented the executive position to develop the Ain Shams University Hospital Sector area, which will extend over an area of ​​57 feddans, and aims to expand and upgrade the service provided to patients.
