President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received this evening a phone call from Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Official Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi stated that the call dealt with exchanging views on the developments of a number of regional issues, within the framework of concerted Arab efforts in facing regional challenges.
During the call, bin Hamad expressed deep appreciation for the tireless Egyptian efforts on the Arab arena, led by Sisi, to consolidate the foundations of regional peace and security.
He also commended the Egyptian mediation to reach a quick cease-fire between the Palestinian and Israeli sides and to restore calm to Gaza.
The two sides discussed some issues within the framework of cooperation. Bin Hamad valued the relations between the two countries, expressing Qatar’s keenness to strengthen the existing cooperation frameworks between the two countries and open new horizons for cooperation.
For his part, President Sisi stressed the close ties that bring together the two countries and peoples, within the framework of Arab solidarity and belief in the unity of destiny.
It was agreed to continue building on the momentum currently witnessed in the frameworks of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as to push forward the mechanisms of mutual consultation and coordination on all issues and successive developments within the framework of safeguarding Arab national security.
