Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that Egypt’s stance on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) file is firm and will not change, stressing that Egypt has taken diplomatic paths in this issue and tried to be patient and take a negotiator’s path.
Sisi said, during his meeting with the students of the Egyptian Military Academy on Saturday, that the state is moving in the file of the Renaissance Dam in a diplomatic path, stressing that: “Things will not be solved with a loud voice. Things are resolved with ability, work and patience.”
“I’m responsible for Egypt’s water share and no one can mess with it.”
He pointed out that Egypt is currently expanding water treatment projects, through new plants that develop agricultural drainage water, in order to reuse it in agriculture, adding that the state has been working for 4 years to provide comprehensive food insurance. “There has been no shortage of any commodity,” he stressed.
