Shoukry Reviews Egypt's Vision for COP27 Conference

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, President-designate of the 27th session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, reviewed, on Monday, during the "Road to the 27th Session of the Conference of the Parties" within the framework of the World Economic Forum, the Egyptian vision for the conference scheduled to be held next November in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Shoukry headed yesterday evening to the Swiss city of Davos, to participate in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum 2022.

 

Ahmed Hafez, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the Minister of Foreign Affairs is scheduled to participate in the event which will be held within the framework of the forum under the title “The Road to the 27th Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change: Partnerships between the public and private sectors in the field of climate Action in the Middle East and North Africa.”

 

Hafez also added, in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that Shoukry is also scheduled to meet a number of senior officials from various countries and parties participating in the forum on the sidelines of its activities, in order to consult on the ongoing work to prepare for the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties, which Egypt will host next November.

 

Shoukry will also discuss ways of cooperation to enhance international climate action at various levels, especially with regard to strengthening climate change adaptation measures and mitigating its negative repercussions, as well as providing climate finance and implementing climate pledges.
