Shoukry, Pakistani Counterpart Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry held a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Makhdom Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

Both officials examined the means of enhancing the bilateral ties between the two countries, and reviewing several common-interest international and regional issues.

Shoukry initiates the meeting by praising the latest developments of the Egyptian-Pakistani relations in 2021, and those improvement symbolized in the visit of the Pakistani Foreign Minister to Egypt in February 2021, and his participation at the 9th round of the political talks between two countries, alongside the exchanged visits between both officials, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Ahmed Hafez said.

Hafez added that two ministers looked forward more development and communication between them for deepening the principles of corporation and coordination regionally, and internationally.

In the same context, the two officials reviewed several topics, in addition, Shoukry expressed his appreciation to Pakistan as the host of the 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Islamabad on March 22nd, 23rd.

He also highlighted the importance of setting bilateral discussions in the framework of the upcoming summit of the OIC and its activities.
