Shoukry Discusses Cooperation with Albanian Counterpart

On Monday, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Albanian counterpart Olta Gačka. Thye discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries and coordinate efforts and positions in international forums.

Shoukry expressed his congratulations to Albania for obtaining a non-permanent seat in the Security Council 2022-2023.

On Sunday, the foreign minister headed for New York City to participate in the high-level meetings of the United Nations General Assembly’s (UNGA) 76th session. 

During his visit, Shoukry will take part in a number of events to present Egypt’s vision and its positions on current issues and developments. He will also discuss ways to support the pillars of peace and security at the international and regional levels.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said that the talks will also tackle mechanisms for strengthening multilateral action within the framework of the issues tabled on the agenda of the UNGA session.

On the sidelines of his participation, FM will meet with a number of senior officials of the UN, as well as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Union for the Mediterranean leaders.

The minister will also hold bilateral meetings, with a large number of foreign ministers participating in UNGA sessions, on enhancing bilateral cooperation, as well as ways to boost coordination regarding common challenges.
