Shoukry Calls for Exit of Foreign Fighters from Libya

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that it is necessary to achieve a comprehensive political solution in Libya. He added that this solution should allow the transfer of power to an elected government, while ending all kinds of foreign interference in Libyan internal affairs.

He pointed out that the political solution should also ensure the departure of all foreign fighter and mercenaries from Libya.

This came during his participation in the meeting of the ministers of Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, France, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE. He explained that the meeting was aimed at exchanging views on ways to resolve the crises in the Middle East region.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry's spokesman Ahmed Hafez, Shoukry stressed "the importance of all countries in the region respecting the rules of international law and the principles of good neighborliness, non-interference in the internal affairs of countries.

He called for the exit of all foreign forces from crisis areas. He called on all parties not to threat to use military force.
