Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry and his US counterpart Antony Blinken, will hold a joint press conference in Cairo.

Prior to the press conference, both ministers will hold bilateral discussions on a number of issues, most notably the situation in the Middle East and the Palestinian cause, as well as developments in the situation in Libya, Syria, and Iraq.

It is worth mentioning that, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with a number of Egyptian youth at the American University in Cairo (AUC), as part of his visit to Egypt.

The US Embassy held a symposium at the American University with the participation of the US Chargé d'Affairs and Blinken.

Blinken said that the American University played an important role in linking Washington and Cairo, indicating that he chose the American University to be his first stop in Cairo.

He indicated that the youth will push the Egyptian-US relations forward, adding: " it is important that we listen to the youth as they listen to us, and we want to cooperate on issues of climate change, sustainable growth, global issues, health, and food security."

Blinken stressed that his visit to Egypt, Israel, and the West Bank confirms the US commitment to deepening bilateral relations, relations between peoples, and supporting regional and global security.

"I preferred to begin my tour with visiting Egypt for several reasons, and the main one is that the strategic partnership between the United States of America and Egypt has important implications for the United States of America, and we know that ultimately this partnership will be built and strengthened by the young people who are here".

Before his arrival, US top diplomat said that his visit to Egypt confirms the US commitment to deepening bilateral relations.

"Headed to Egypt, Israel, and the West Bank. My fourth trip to the region as Secretary underscores our commitment to deepen bilateral relationships and people-to-people ties, promote human rights, and strengthen regional and global security," Blinken tweeted.
