Shoukry: Arab Water Security Represents Top Priority

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry revealed, on Tuesday, that the tripartite meeting, held today in Cairo, discussed activating cooperation frameworks among Egypt, Jordan and Iraq in the fields of energy, reconstruction and electricity, stressing that the three countries are working on achieving integration between.

Shoukry stressed that Arab water security represents a top priority, especially the issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and the challenges related to water security in Iraq.

In a joint press conference with the Foreign Ministers of Iraq and Jordan, Shoukry confirmed that the consultations addressed the importance of preserving stability and non-interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries, explaining that this cooperation aims to serve the peoples of the three countries.

He pointed out to a common vision to preserve Arab national security and confront challenges.

He noted that the meeting dealt with latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, in addition to discussing the conflict in Syria and Libya and the importance of reaching political solutions so that these countries can preserve their sovereignties.
