Sherine to Return to Social Media ‘Real Soon’

Hashtag #Return_ Your_ Accounts has trended on social media over the past hours as a large number of social media users asked Egyptian superstar, Sherine to stop her social media hiatus and to activate her closed accounts.

She quit social media last year due to people interfering in her personal life.

The superstar surprised her fans by announcing that she will shut down her accounts on Social Media after she was trolled online following her initiative to perform a concert in Lebanon.

Egyptian superstar Hossam Habib, Sherine's husband, announced via Instagram stories that Sherine has agreed to return to the social media again.

He thanked the fans for their love and continuous support and announced that she will return real soon.

"We have seen all the support and love in your beautiful words and we promise you that Sherine will return very soon on social media because she has also missed being in your midst very much.”

It is worth mentioning that Sherine Sayed Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, known as Sherine Abdel-Wahab and as Sherine, was born on October 10, 1980.

Sherine’s talent was first discovered as a child by her music teacher at school, who convinced her mother to take her to the Cairo Opera House to meet veteran musician Selim Sahab.

She auditioned in front of him, who liked her voice a lot. The singer had served as a choral member at the Cairo Opera House from the age of nine to twelve, and then she was given a chance to become a solo singer.

Sherine kept performing at the Cairo Opera House while looking for a music producer to launch her professional career.

She was introduced at the age of 18 to director and music producer Nasr Mahrous, who he liked her talented voice and decided to collaborate with her via “Free Music” production company, where she met with superstar, Tamer Hosny, a who was also a new talent seeking an opportunity.

In 2002, Sherine’s first recorded song released as a part of the album that included works of other artists.

The album was released, by the title “Free Mix3: Tamer and Sherine” and was a big hit all across the entire Middle East and North Africa. The album sold more than 20 Million copies all across the whole MENA.

It was a big hit particularly because of her single song called “Ah ya Leil”, which boosted her fame.

In early 2000, she made a duet song called “Bahebak” with Mohamed Mohy, which achieved great success and boosted her fame.

That album was followed by “Garrh Tanee” which was released in 2003 and boosted her continues success.

The 38-year-old superstar is considered as one of Egypt’s and Middle East’s most talented voices.
