Egypt is 2nd tourist favorite destination for Serbians, Ambassador Says

On Saturday, Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiques hosted the Serbian Ambassador in Cairo Jojoslaw Lee Vukadinovic, and a member of the Serbian Parliament Palma Markovic to discuss enhancing cooperation betweeb Egypt and Serbia in the tourism sector.

In a statement, the Deputy Minister of tourism Ghada Shalaby praised the Egyptian government’s efforts to support the tourism sector, including all precautionary measures and protocols for the gradual return of tourism following the COVID-19 novel. Shalaby also reviled that Egypt aims to attract more Serbians given its popularity there.

On the other hand, Markovic expressed his country’s interest in increasing cooperation with Egypt in the tourism sector.

Moreover, he indicated that Egypt is the second favorite tourist destination for Serbians after Greece.

On this basis, Shalaby and Markovic discussed the possibility of organizing tourist trips for several renowned Serbian doctors to visit Egypt during the coming period, in addition to the possibility of organizing student trips to the Red Sea linked to visits to Luxor and Aswan.

In December 2020, Shalabi visited Serbia to promote for Egypt’s tourist destinations, as part of the ministry’s strategy to attract more tourist traffic to Egypt from promising tourist markets such as Serbia.

It's worth mentioning that Egyptian authorities have reopened its seaside resorts of Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and Marsa Matrouh to international flights and foreign tourists since July, after a three-month halt over the coronavirus novel.
