A laboratory for testing Covid-19 in Senegal reported today, Sunday, the first case of the "Omicron" coronavirus variant.
It added that a tourist infected with Omicron variant participated in a demonstration in the capital, Dakar, last month with about 300 of different nationalities.
The 58-year-old man was on a visit from another West African country, and he tested positive while he was leaving Senegal on Friday.
