Senate Speaker Receives Indonesian Delegation

Counselor Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Razik the Senate Council Speaker received today a Indonesian parliamentary delegation, headed by Dr. Fadil Muhammad the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian Senate Council.

Abdel Razik confirmed that the visit reflects the relations depth between both countries, which extend politically, religiously and culturally for decades, stressing the keenness of the Senate and its members to work for developing and supporting this relationship.

On other hand, Dr. Mohamed reported that his aspiration to benefit from the legal and constitutional expertise of the Egyptian Senate Speaker, as well as benefit from Egypt's efforts in the fighting terrorism field.

He pointed to the importance of the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif role , which represents moderate Islam and is the institution that students of knowledge in Indonesia aspire to.

Meanwhile, Counselor Bahaa El-Din Abu Shaqa the Senate Vice President welcomed the Indonesian delegation, explained that the relations between Egypt and Indonesia are historical and that Egypt was the first country to recognize the Indonesia independence in 1945, and both sides established the Organization of Non-Aligned Countries. Even President El-Sisi pays special attention to bilateral relations.

Noteworthy, the meeting was attended by Counselor Mahmoud Ismail Atman the Senate Secretary General, Ambassador Asim Hanafi the Assistant Foreign Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, and Ambassador Dr. Ahmed Bahaa El-Din the Deputy Assistant of Foreign Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.
