Lebanese star Dolly Shahine is one of the few artists who prefer their families over their fame. Shahine fans has constantly felt that while she out performs other artists with her glittering performance, whether in singing or acting, she disappears from the scenes after every successful project.

Born to a Lebanese Brazilian father and a Lebanese mother and raised as a Catholic, she said during a symposium with Sada el Balad English (See) that she learned singing in the church choral. "I was chosen among my colleges to represent my school at the church choral, and this is when i realized that i want to become a singer."

The symposium came to honor Shahine for her successful career in Egypt and her support for Lebanon during the crises, which personally affected her family in Beirut.

When asked about the Gouna Festival, Shahine said that her daughter's school is more important than any event, and usually the GFF kicks off during school time, adding the the festival is mostly concerned with dresses on the red carpet rather than the content of the movies displayed there.

She also revealed exclusive news about her upcoming movie "Eid Gawaz" or Wedding Anniversary, which she described as a social movie that tells several stories about relationships.

After having a couple of unsuccessful marriages, Shahine revealed that one of the biggest problems in relationships are stereotypes, who seek to change and control women, neglecting the fact that they are independent human beings, who have their own personality, own character, and need their own space.

She also spoke about Hend Sabry, who is Tunisian by birth, and Egyptian by profession, comparing her to George Wassouf, who is originally Syrian, yet, Lebanese consider him one of them.

Finally, the Lebanese star said that film critiques and social media usually focus on her style, clothes, and bikini in her movies, neglecting my acting talent.
