SCZone Targets 15 Sectors to Boost Global Trade

SCZone identified 15 targeted sectors, which contribute to strengthening its role in supporting global trade.

Yehia Zaki the Chairman of Suez Canal Economic Zone declared that the integration and harmonious role between the Suez Canal Authority and the Economic Zone have been translated into the development of a joint strategy to strengthen their role to face the current challenges and support global trade.”

This came during his participation in an event at Expo 2020 Dubai on Sunday, entitled “Suez Canal Supporting Global Trade Against Different Challenges”.

“For the last 7 years, Egypt is carrying out several mega national projects offering lots of investment opportunities. The dueling of the Suez Canal itself and the introduction of the Economic Zone were on top of these projects that target turning the Suez Canal region into an industrial, commercial and logistical hub, that offers huge investment potentials to companies and countries all over the world,” Yehia Zaki added.

In a related context, SCZone’s Chairman emphasized that it has always been a dream since the early days of 2015, to transform the Suez Canal Corridor from just a maritime shipping route to an important Economic Hub, serving the global trade and enhancing the international investment map, aiming to attract persified investments in various sectors.

SCZone is a very great platform to attract several types of Industries through its Integrated Areas of Ports, logistic and industrial areas supported with World Class Infrastructure and Utility networks for Electrical Power, Desalination and Water Supply, Sewage Treatment plants in addition to Communication and Natural Gas.

These Integrated Areas at Portsaid and Sokhna enjoy excellent connectivity between East and West banks of the Suez Canal, another achievement managed by the Suez Canal Authority by constructing 6 tunnels underneath the Canal as well as linking to thousands of kilometers of highways and modern roads network with allover Egypt.

The 2020 – 2025 strategy targets creating an integrated coherence based on industry, shipping, and logistics, transforming the Economic Zone into a strong platform for exporting to the global markets and serving the supply chain for the whole world in addition to accessibility to the local market.
