On Saturday, Saudi Airlines announced the suspension of all its flights to and from Sudan, after its plane was attacked at Khartoum International Airport.

Saudi Airlines issued a statement saying that its Airbus A330, Flight No. SV458, had been involved in an accident at Khartoum International Airport before taking off towards Riyadh, at seven o'clock UTC, this morning.

The statement added that the emergency team in Saudi Arabia responded immediately, as all flights to and from Sudan were suspended until further notice, while the work teams are seeking with all relevant authorities, led by Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Sudan, to obtain more information about the incident.

The statement concluded that Saudi Airlines will provide more updates on the incident through its social media platforms.

On Saturday, violent clashes took place between the Sudanese army forces and the Rapid Support Forces, as the two sides exchanged accusations of launching an attack on the sites of the other party.

The Sudanese Armed Forces announced that the Air Force is currently conducting specific operations to "resolve the irresponsible actions of the Rapid Support Forces."

Clashes escalated after movements of the Rapid Support Forces inside the Khartoum and several states, which the army said took place without its approval, warning of a "possible confrontation" with the Rapid Support Forces, while observers considered it a public indication of "long-term disputes that impede efforts to restore civil rule."
