Ten Ukrainian prisoners arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, after the success of a prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine, mediated by Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz.
The prisoners were received from Russia and transferred to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to work on their return to their countries, according to the Saudi “Al-Ikhbariya” channel.
Among the released prisoners was Moroccan Ibrahim Saadoun, who was sentenced to death in Donetsk for fighting as a mercenary with forces affiliated with Ukraine, according to Russian media.
On Wednesday, the KSA announced the success of mediation for the release of 10 prisoners from five countries.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement, that the 10 prisoners are “citizens of the Kingdom of Morocco, the United States of America (USA), the United Kingdom (UK), the Kingdom of Sweden, and the Republic of Croatia, and their release comes within the framework of a prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine.”
