Samsung Egypt Invests $84 Mln in PC Monitors

Chunki Kwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Samsung Electronics Factory in Egypt, announced the company’s plan to establish new factories for the production of computer displays, along with a TV production plant with investments of $84 million over 5 years.

During his meeting with Nevin Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry, he affirmed the company supports the Egyptian state through the implementation of new investment expansions that contribute to supporting the Egyptian economy in light of the global corona pandemic, providing more job opportunities and increasing Egyptian exports to foreign markets.

Kwan pointed out that Egypt is of great importance for Samsung, especially as it represents one of the pivotal countries in the region and a major gateway to regional and international markets.

The chairman announced the company’s plan to establish new factories for the production of computer screens, along with a TV production plant with investments of $ 84 million, at a time when the company plans to relocate most of its PC monitor lines to Vietnam.

He added that the company is keen to transfer Korean technologies, expertise and knowledge to the Egyptian economy by settling a number of new industries and providing training programs for Egyptian cadres in Korea in various industrial and commercial fields.

Kwan pointed out that the company seeks to benefit from all the free trade agreements signed between Egypt and a large number of countries and global economic blocs in increasing its exports to foreign markets.
