Salama: 12 Parties Participate in Parliamentary Elections

Abdul Mohsen Salama, Chairman of Al-Ahram Board of Directors, confirmed that the electoral process for the first phase of the House of Representatives elections seemed regular during the two days.

“We did not witness complaints or violations,” he said in TV statements on Sunday to Extra News Satellite channel.

The Chairman of Al-Ahram Board of Directors added that the turnout in those elections was reasonable, as some areas witnessed a large turnout for the polling stations.

Salama noted that the elections witness the participation of 12 parties that formed coalitions and alliances resulted in electoral lists.

“This phenomenon proves that the next parliament will be strong and witness a great persity,” he stressed. 

The Chairman of Al-Ahram Board of Directors pointed out that 25% of the candidates will win their seats at the inpidual level, while the other 75% will go for run-offs.
