The 3 players contributed greatly to their team's victories this year as Ronaldo guided Juventus to Serie A glory this year, while Messi lead Barcelona to La Liga victory. Van Dijk played a vital role in Liverpool's triumph this year as he lead the Reds defense into UEFA Champions League victory in addition to snatching a close second place in the Premier League.

The winner of the award is set to be announced on the 29th of August.
