Salah Out of Nominees For PL POTM Award

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been ruled out of the six-man shortlist nominees for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award for October.

The official Premier League website revealed on Friday the six-man shortlist, who has been nominated for this prestigious award.

The winner, who will be announced next week, will be decided through a public referendum on the Premier League official website, as the vote of the public will be combined with those of the 20 club captains plus a panel of football experts.

"The fans can vote for their favorite player on the EA SPORTS website by 18:00 GMT on Monday 4 November," according to Premier League official website.

The shortlist witnessed the presence of Sheffield United’s No 1 goalkeeper, who managed to keep two clean sheets, including in a 1-0 victory over Arsenal. He also made eight great saves, making the Blades to remain unbeaten in October.

Aston Villa's captain Jack Grealish was also among the nominees due to his remarkable performance with his side over the last month scoring two goals and making one assist.

Leicester City midfielder Jamie Vardy has been selected among the six-man shortlist due to his illustrious impact on his side as he netted four goals, including a hat-trick at St Mary’s Stadium over the last month.

Chelsea's winger Willian has entered the competition due to his tremendous efforts with the Blues. The Brazillian performed greatly against Southampton before netting once and scoring another goal at Burnley.

Youri Tielemans has been chosen among the nominees as he scored twice and was instrumental during the last month with Leicester City.

Manchester City midfielder İlkay Gündoğan has been also selected due to his great performance with the Premier League holders in October.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scooped the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award for September on Friday.
