Former Liverpool centre-back and Mohamed Salah's close friend, Dejan Lovren has revealed the nature of the relationship between the Egyptian and Sadio Mane.

Lovren was part of Liverpool’s team that won multiple trophies over the last two years, including a UEFA Champions League and a Premier League title.

The 31-year-old then departed Anfield to join Russian giants, Zenit St Petersburg, bringing his six-year spell at Liverpool to an end.

Salah and Mane

Speaking about the Egyptian International and Mane, Lovren commented on the relationship between the pair, saying: “I see it in a different way.

“It is good to have competition between players. It is normal, Salah wants to score more than Mane, and this is football.

“If both players are in good form, then it serves the team well and that’s the most important thing.

“When he [Salah] doesn’t score in a game, he blames himself, not Mane. Instead, he focuses on his mistakes to improve for the next game,” he added.
