Saint Gobain Glass Factory Opens New Line: French Amb.

French Ambassador to Egypt Stephane Romatet celebrated the opening of a new manufacturing unit of glass and mirrors in Suez City.

“Inauguration of a new manufacturing unit of mirrors at Saint Gobain factory in Egypt,” Romatet wrote on his social media platforms on Tuesday.

He added that France is investing in Egypt through one of its heroic icons in the field of manufacture.

In the presence of governor of Suez, Major-General Abdel Mageed Sakr, and French officials, a new mirrors manufacturing line was inaugurated at the economic zone of the Suez Canal.

French Ambassador Attended WYF 2018

Earlier, Romatet noted that France has a special interest in enhancing its relations with Egypt in the fields of education as well as in projects in new cities, infrastructure projects and energy projects.

In another regard, Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh will host the third edition of the World Youth Forum from 14 to 17 Dec, 2019.

The French ambassador in Cairo attended the previous forum held in 2018.

French Cooperation in Transportation Sector

On July 24, Egypt’s Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir urged French companies to maximise their projects in the transportation sector in Egypt, especially because the two countries have successful cooperation experiences in various fields.

One example of the many other projects in the railway sector is the Cairo metro lines establishment project, where French companies implemented the third Cairo metro line.

Wazir mentioned that the ministry is working on collaborating with the French Development Agency (FDA) to improve Alexandria's El-Raml tramway, in coordination with the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation, during a meeting held on Tuesday at the investment ministry's headquarters.

The meeting was attended by French Ambassador Stéphane Romatet and a number of Egyptian ministers and top officials.

“France desires to help Egypt improve the transportation sector through its projects. The French VINCI company is to visit Egypt soon to push cooperation with Egypt’s Ministry of Transport. The FDA is bracing to appropriate €100 million to fund the project to improve El-Raml,” Romatet said.
