Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr asserted on Tuesday her keenness on taking part in forums organized by the Paris-based Arab World Institute to boost Egypt-France economic and investment cooperation.

The minister made the remarks during her participation in a roundtable at a forum on the future of economic relations between Egypt and France, organized by the Arab World Institute.

Nasr said more than 160 French companies are currently operating in Egypt with total investments exceeding €4 billion.

In this regard, she highlighted the fact that French investments in Egypt doubled in 2017 in various sectors, particularly in infrastructure, transport, industry, communications and information technology, new and renewable energy as well as the small and medium enterprises.

The political leaderships in Egypt and France are permanently keen to continue bilateral constructive cooperation in a way that reflects the two countries’ position and history and helps create a better future for the Egyptian and French peoples, Nasr noted.

She also lauded France’s keenness to support and boost bilateral deep relations through funding development projects in Egypt as per an economic reform plan.

The economic cooperation portfolio between Cairo and Paris registers €1.2 billion, she revealed, adding that there is a joint program with the European Union that totals €1 billion.
