Russia to Export World’s Cheapest Electric Car

The Russian Industry and Trade Ministry announced today, it will export the Russian electric car City Modul 1 by Zetta to a number of countries, according to Pledge Times.

On other hand, the ministry reported that is being worked out discussing export the car to India, Pakistan, Jordan, Egypt and Germany.

Moreover, the launching of the 1st serial production of the Russian electric car City Modul 1 by Zetta was postponed until 2020 due to the fact that it did not receive a loan of 99.9 million rubles from the Industrial Development Fund.

City Modul 1 is a three-door hatchback, the model will receive front-wheel drive and a 180 km battery, which can be charged from almost any energy source – from a 220-380 W socket or from a transformer.

The $7,000-price-candidate is 3.04 m long, 1.60 m wide, 1.60 m tall and has a 2 m wheelbase. The company reported that its a four-seater, but it is just 34 cm longer than a Smart Fortwo. Perhaps it seats two children in the back.

According to Denis Schurovsky the Zetta CEO, all wheels are connected to a single management system that simulates electric ABS and ESP with high recuperation capability. Zetta plans to show the car in November and to start production in December.
