Russia has announced the registration of 1459 new Coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 10131.

Moreover, Russia's national Corona control center said the number of deaths from the disease has increased by 13, to a total of 76.

Russia is currently racing time to develop an anti-Corona vaccine. Moscow announced that its laboratories are ready to apply clinical trials on humans to an experimental vaccine against the pandemic virus.

On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced bonuses to health care workers on "the frontline" of the country's fight against the coronavirus.

He also urged the public to be patient with lockdown restrictions to help slow the spread of the virus.

It is worth mentioning that, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 121,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease COVID-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.

People across the globe partake in self-isolation for 14 days as an effective precautionary measure to protect those around them and themselves from contracting COVID-19.

Transmission of virus between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.
