Russia’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said her country is able to cut diplomatic ties with the US if the latter accused Moscow of supporting terrorism.
Commenting on the discussion of the US Senate calling for Russia to be included in the list of state sponsors of terrorism, Zakharova said that is a step, which can lead to cutting diplomatic ties with Washington.
According to Sputnik, she noted that Moscow is prepared for any improvement in the US situation, pointing out that Washington has to “know we are prepared for any improvement in the situation. If the US decided to take a complete halt to the cooperation with Moscow, we will bear this.”
Zakharova added that the US could not abuse the regimes that the Americans accuse of terrorism.
Observers of the political scene between Moscow and Washington believe that the demand of the western side not to escalate and stop the confrontations will be conditional on Russia’s side, which will not accept that there will be concessions in its national security in any future or current crisis.
