Robot Designed by Heliopolis Students Wins Education Award

The University of Heliopolis won third place in the scientific competition for engineering technology projects - presented by engineering students from different Egyptian universities. Their project featured a robot which is

connected to a communications system that allows it to perform tasks remotely, such as data analysis. It also helps to maintain security within the house. The robot helps home owners to know what is going on in their homes when they are out. The project was implemented by students Bahgat Hafez, Ali Heiba and Omar Zafarani, professor Rasha El-Kholy, Vice President of the university and dean of Engineering school said.

Heliopolis University for sustainable development took part in the the competition with 3 projects, which are the 3 wheeled robot, the guiding robot and the electronic car. The first robot was produced by students Abdelrahman Farag, Omar Ashraf, and Hussein Shaaban. It was originally designed to greet guests in the mechatronics section in the engineering building. The electronic car however was designed by students Mohamed Fouad, Mohamed El-Abrash and Amr Abdel-Aleem.
