Reuters: Government statistics revealed yesterday an increase in the revenues of Swiss canal, to 503.1 m USD in May up from 479.3 m USD in Aril.
This figure came days after the Head of Suez Canal Authority, Mr. Mohab Mmeish, stated that the revenues collected this year are the highest ever.
He explained “The Suez Canal witnessed an increase of 16.7% in some months compared to its counterparts in the previous year , and this figure has not happened in the history of Suez Canal before". He added “This has made there 5.6 billion dollars in one year.”
