A list including 21 Republican senators have repeatedly questioned Donald Trump's eligibility as the US president.

The prominent American journalist, Karl Bernstein, revealed a list of 21 members of the Senate, belonging to the Republican Party, who said that they repeatedly questioned the eligibility of Trump to assume such position.

The British "Guardian" newspaper reported that Karl Bernstein, who uncovered the "Watergate" scandal with his colleague Bob Woodward, published on his Twitter page the names of the 21 Republicans, stressing that he was not violating the press confidentiality charter.

He pointed out that he obtained those names from "journalists and aides to members of the Senate and pressure groups and aides in the White House."

Many of those whose names appeared on the list, if not most of them, expressed their happiness about Trump's defeat in this election as long as the Senate would remain under Republican control, according to Bernstein's statements to CNN.

The list included Republican members Rob Portman, Lamar Alexander, Ben Sass, Roy Blunt, Susan Collins, Lisa Mrukowski, John Cornin, John Theon, Mitt Romney, Mick Brown, Todd Young, Tim Scott, Rick Scott, Marco Rubio, Chuck Grassley, Richard. Burr, Pat Tommy, Martha McSaley, Jerry Moran, Pat Roberts, and Richard Shelby.

Some, including Sassy, Kornin, Collins and Morkowski, have publicly criticized Trump, while Romney, Rubio, Murkowski, Tommy and Collins have recognized Biden as the elected president.

The American journalist pointed out that "the silence of these members has enabled Trump to show his worst behavior, which includes his attempt to undermine the American electoral system and question his credibility."
