The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided that the African Super Match will be held in the Qatari capital, Doha, according to news reports Thursday.

According to CAFonline.com, the football’s governing body in Africa will announce the date and venue of the Super Cup officially during a press conference on Friday.

Egypt's Al Ahly SC are set to face their Moroccan counterpart, RS Berkane, as a result of the Red Devils winning the CAF Champions League title at the expense of Zamalek SC, and RS Berkane winning the Confederation Cup title at the expense of Egypt's Pyramids FC.

CAF has announced earlier that the championship match will be held in Cairo, according to an agreement between CAF and the Qatari Federation, a decision that was followed by rejection from the Moroccan team.

Worth noting is that the CAF had signed a contract with the Qatari Federation, that the CAF Super Cup is to be held in Doha, for a period of 3 years, of which only two years have gone past.

Moroccan Raja defeated Tunisian Esperance Sportive de Tunis in the first edition of the Super Cup, which took place in 2018, while Zamalek defeated Esperance in the second edition in 2019.
