Report: What did the Saudi Press have to say following loss to Russia

Saudi Arabia was off to a bad start, after a monumental loss to Russia by five goals, spectators can only wonder how one of the strongest Arab teams in the tournament would lose in such a horrendous way against the Russians. Even though the Russians had their homefield advantage, the result was pretty tough to accept by sports spectators, who leading into the match, predicted the match would end in either a draw or a Saudi upset.

The Saudi local news papers were the first to show their discontent with the national team, here are some of the Press's com comments post the loss.

Sports news paper: the national team let our hopes down.

The newspaper criticized the Saudi form from the get go, stating that the players lacked confidence and werent their usual selves. The paper called the second half a disaster by all means urging the Saudi team to get their form together, in an attempt to save their world cup campaign.

Saudi Sports: The loss was unexpected.

Saudi Sports news paper predicted the Saudis would upset the Russians, the Saudis called the manager's decision to not change the formation in the second half as a bad call.

Daily news: Saudi Arabia loses it's opening match

Daily news called the loss emotional draining, claiming that Saudi football fans were expected a better performance after 12 years of absence from the world cup.
