Aurelien Djani Tchouameni has officially moved from Monaco to Real Madrid for a fee of around 100 million euros, including variables.

The player, a France international, has joined Los Blancos on a five-year deal and becomes Real Madrid's second signing for next season after Antonio Rudiger, who joined from Chelsea on a free transfer.

Real Madrid, who had Tchouameni on their radar since last year, reignited their interest after Kylian Mbappe's refusal to sign earlier this summer.

The significant financial outlay that Real Madrid were going to make for the Paris Saint-Germain star forced them to postpone their plans for the arrival of the midfielder, who was then looking at offers from Liverpool and PSG themselves.

But Real Madrid returned with a call at the end of May, and Tchouameni made it clear that he wanted to join the European champions, and Monaco cooperated.

He knew where he wanted to play, and not even Mbappe nor Jurgen Klopp's attempts to tempt him away from Spain could change his mind.
