Former Al Ahly SC and current Pyramids FC player Ramadan Sobhi, revealed, Monday evening, the reasons for his departure from the Red Castle, after the big uproar caused by his transfer in the last period.

Sobhi, 23, moved to Pyramids last summer from English Huddersfield FC, despite Al Ahly's attempt, to sign him for another loan period or even transfer him completely.

During a television interview, Sobhi said in response to accusations of his move to Pyramids because of the large salary, that he is not in search for money, pointing out that if he had considered the financial aspect, he would have stayed in England and had never considered returning.

"My salary in England was five times as much as what I earned in Al Ahly," he said. "I was the one who asked to return to Al Ahly when I was at Huddersfield Club, but recently I felt that some people were refusing my stay in the club."

The former Al Ahly player revealed the reason for leaving the Red Castle saying: "I learned from a young age that the interest of Al Ahly Club comes above everything, but recently I found people who care about their interests and personal purposes and do not take care of the club."

"What happened to me in Al Ahly is absolutely unacceptable, especially that I had played for them since I was a junior player and there are people inside the club who prefer the media show at the expense of the club's interest." he continued.

He went on: "I used to tell the contracts director Amir Tawfiq about things related to the negotiation to convey to the club's CEO, and I was surprised that these private talks were leaked to the media."

"I was clear from the very beginning, but the club's management was reporting incorrect news to the fans and the media, saying that the matter was in my hands. If the club wanted me to continue, it would have finalized the deal early and did not leave the matter hanging until July."

"After Pyramids negotiated for the first time with me, I had a private session with Sherif Ikrami, Ali Saqr and Nader Shawqi and we had a discussion."

The Egyptian international player explained that he understands the anger of Al Ahly fans, and added that he is following all updates through social networks.

On his part, Al Ahly's contracts director Amir Tawfiq responded to Sobhi's statements on Instagram by posting smiley faces through the speech of Pyramids player.
