Pyramids FC blasted the interim committee of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) after suspending their Palestinian forward Mahmoud Wadi for eight games.

EFA's competitions committee decided to ban Wadi for 8 games and fined him EGP 100,000 after being sent off in the El Entag El Harby clash in the fifth round of the Egyptian League, during which Pyramids secured a 3-2 victory.

In a statement, the Egyptian club denounced the sanction, saying that the competition committee's decision has been taken according to the report submitted by the referee to the committee.

"The referee said in his report that the player insulted him after he was sent off for violent play, which is completely surprising from the referee," Pyramids said.

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian club are set to clash against Libya's Al-Ittihad in the Confederation Cup at 18:30 CLT as the first leg ended in a 1-0 victory for Pyramids.
