The Pyramids received on Tuesday members of the Portugal, Poland, and Brazil handball teams participating in the 2021 World Handball Championship for men hosted by Egypt, while adhering to the precautionary measures and health safety controls prescribed by the International Handball Federation.

During the visit, the team members expressed their happiness at visiting one of the most important monuments in the world, especially the pyramid of King Khufu, the only remaining wonder of the wonders of the ancient world.

They also expressed their admiration for the ingenuity of the ancient Egyptians in building the pyramids and by sculpting the Great Sphinx.

Members of these teams were keen to take memorial photos during their visit, stressing that they would pass their experience on to their friends and families to encourage them to visit Egypt, especially the Giza pyramids area.

The media delegation in charge of covering the World Handball Championship also visited the region today.

During the past days, members of the national teams of Russia, Chile, Sweden, Austria, France, Switzerland, Japan, Germany, Congo, Iceland, Algeria and Uruguay have visited the region, participating in the tournament.
