Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron will discuss over the phone the situation in Ukraine, before the end of this week, Kremlin announced.
"Such talks will take place by the end of this week," Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, adding that, "preparations are underway now."
On Monday, U.S. President Joe Biden held a virtual meeting with key European leaders about the ongoing threat of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
"The leaders agreed on the importance of international unity in the face of growing Russian hostility," Biden told reporters after the meeting.
