Putin Arrives in Blagoveshchensk to Meet Belarusian Counterpart

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the Russian city of "Blagoveshchensk" today, Tuesday; for talks with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.

The two presidents, according to Russian media, are expected to inspect the construction of the "Vostochny" spaceport and infrastructure facilities from a helicopter, talk to workers and honor the cosmonauts.

The two presidents will discuss the development of bilateral cooperation and the situation in Ukraine. It is expected that a joint press conference will be held after their meeting.

The Russian President will meet with the governor of the Amur region, Vasily Orlov.

Noteworthy, the European Union is considering imposing a sixth package of sanctions on Moscow tomorrow, Monday.

On Friday, the European Union approved a fifth package of sanctions against Russia amid Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine, which was launched on February 24th.

The UK announced new sanctions against Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the two daughters of Russian President Putin.
