The French Football Federation (FFF) said that Kylian Mbappe, the national team player, have tested positive for Corona virus and will miss today's match against Croatia in the European Nations League.

The federation added on its official website, "In view of the results of the detection of the Corona virus conducted by the European Football Association (UEFA), he tested positive and was excluded from the squad after the arrival of the results and returned to his home in the evening."

The statement from the FFF said: "Kylian Mbappé will not participate in France-Croatia, Tuesday evening at 8:45 p.m. at the Stade de France".

‌"Like the entire delegation, Kylian Mbappé had undergone a test prior to meeting. The result was negative, like the one last Wednesday, at the request of UEFA.", the statement explained.

Mbappe, who participated in the national team exercises on Monday before his positive test result came out, became the seventh player of Paris Saint-Germain to be infected with the "Covid-19" virus, after Brazilians Neymar and Marquinhos, Argentines Angel Di Maria, Mauro Icardi, Leandro Paredes and Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

All of them got the virus during a vacation in Ibiza after losing the Champions League final against Bayern Munich on August 23.

The French star is the fourth player from France national team to be excluded from the world champions' squad due to "Covid-19", after Paul Pogba (Manchester United of England), who announced his injury before announcing the squad of coach Didier Deschamps, Houssem Aouar (Lyon) and goalkeeper Steve Mandanda (Olympique de Marseille Marseille).

He scored the only goal in France's victory over Sweden on Saturday.

He also played an instrumental role in helping France win the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and was named "Best Young Player" of the tournament.

The medical protocol of the French League stipulates that every player infected with the virus must be isolated for a period of eight days.

The new Corona virus is affecting the world of football, as the Czechs canceled their match against Scotland which was scheduled for next week in the European Nations Football League due to fears of Covid-19, hours after their victory over Slovakia 3-1.
