Egyptian media reported the death of Major General Mohamed Adel Hassanain, one of the most prominent leaders of the war of attrition with Israel and leader of the Battle of the "Rocket Artillery Wall" in 1970.

Hassanain was the commander of the 416th Battalion, with the rank of major, and he was the first to shoot down an Israeli "Phantom" plane as well as 9 "Skyhawks".

The source pointed out that the late Hassanain received many medals and badges, including the highest military medal in Egypt, which is the Military Honor Star, followed by the Sinai Star, then the Medal of Courage from the first class.
