The Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, named the young gorilla baby boy, and he announced the news on Twitter.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall’s official Twitter: “Introducing baby boy Ubwuzuzanye! As part of this year’s @kwitaizina ceremony in Rwanda, The Prince of Wales is delighted to have been asked to name a baby mountain gorilla.”
The name Ubwuzuzanye, meaning ‘Harmony’, was chosen to bestow wishes of continued harmony between Nature, People and Planet, alongside cooperation in the family and the teams and communities that work tirelessly to protect these magnificent creatures.

The Royal figure was invited by the Rwanda Development Board to participate at the Kwita Izina Gorilla Naming Ceremony.
The official Twitter account of Kwita Izina posted a video for the Prince, announcing: “The name I give him is Ubwuzuzanye, which means ‘harmony,’ since the restoration of harmony and balance between nature, people and planet is the most critical issue facing humanity that we must tackle with extreme urgency.”
He added: “Otherwise these, and other magnificent creatures and their precious habitats, will be lost forever.”
The Crown Prince of the UK, Prince Charles, is scheduled to attend Scotland’s Beamar Games. He will join the audience to watch the participants take part in several activities such as caber toss, hammer throw, and tug-o-war.
He will represent Queen Elizabeth II as she won’t attend the games due to mobility issues.
