Health Affairs Presidential Advisor Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din said on Monday that Egypt is currently witnessing a sharp decline in Coronavirus cases, stressing that the epidemiological situation is stable.

In televised remarks, Tag El-Din said that Egypt and the whole world have dealt with COVID-19 in a professional way, pointing out that he expects Coronavirus to be more like seasonal flu in 2022.

Egypt’s Health Ministry announced on Saturday that the average number of daily coronavirus infections nationwide reached 559 in the past week.

The average number of Covid-19 deaths reached 8 fatalities, while the average daily number of recoveries reached 565, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 438,458.

The number of people who are fully vaccinated against coronavirus has now reached 32,563,052.

The Ministry issues the statistics report at the beginning of each week.

The decision follows the recession of the fifth wave of the outbreak and the decline in rates of new cases and hospitalization.
