A new poll held in the United States of America (USA)  mounted by Charles Koch Institute revealed that two-thirds of the citizens will support the decision of the Biden administration to complete withdrawal from Afghanistan by next September.

When the pollsters asked the civil respondents whether they support or oppose the decision of returning all forces from Afghanistan by September this year, 66% of them said that they support that idea strongly or somewhat.

But 38% of the military respondents indicated that they support the withdrawal of the US from Afghanistan, meanwhile, 30% of the servicemen assured that they approve that decision somewhat.

It is worth noting the US forces started withdrawing from Afghanistan last week.

When the withdrawal completes it puts an end to the longest war in the history of the USA.

Last Tuesday, the US Central Commandment announced that the US forces have withdrawn by 2% to 6% from Afghanistan since the inception of the withdrawal last week.

The Central Commandment issued a statement quoted by the Hill, a US newspaper that said the withdrawal will complete by September 11.

However, General Michael Gravel, Commander in Chief of the Austrian army, confirmed that his forces will completely withdraw from Afghanistan next July at the latest.

Over his statements yesterday, Gravel said that the Austrian military presence in Afghanistan lasted about 20 years.

He indicated that 14 members of the  Austrian armed forces are currently stationed in the mountainous Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan.

The Austrian commander affirmed that the responses of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and Afghanistan to the Austrian withdrawal are very positive so far.

He assured that the Austrian forces have recently participated in training the Afghani security forces within the frame of consultative tasks, but they did not take part in combat operations.

He unveiled that the Austrian forces did not sustain any casualties throughout the last twenty years as the Austrian troops are well-trained and acquire international experience.
