The "financial recovery plan" and the "Capital Control Law", which the International Monetary Fund (IMF) asked the Lebanese government to approve, suffered a setback yesterday.

The plan was challenged by political pision preventing the completion of the discussion of the draft law in parliamentary committees.

And the deputies linked the discussion of the project to the "recovery plan" that In turn, it ignited the street and the trade unions, in refusal to burden depositors with the bulk of the losses of the Lebanese state.

At least 3 demands made by the IMF were trapped by political differences, until the implementation of the initial agreement with the fund.

It is worth noting that Lebanon’s agreement with the IMF signed last week was “threatened with further delay,” according to economic and parliamentary sources.
