The Polish border guards agency announced Friday that the country has so far received nearly 3.49 million refugees fleeing Ukraine since the start of the Russian military operation on February 24.

"Since February 24, a total of 3 million and 486,000 people have crossed the border into Poland from Ukraine," the agency said - in a tweet.

The agency indicated that about 22 thousand refugees from Ukraine entered the country yesterday, Thursday, compared to 21 thousand and 500 refugees the day before.

Noteworthy, Poland had passed last March a bill that provides a wide-ranging support package for Ukrainian refugees fleeing their country, under which they are granted legal residence in Poland and guarantee them the right in education, health care, and social services.
