PM Reviews Efforts to Coordinate Action between Govt, CBE

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Sunday that the cabinet pays special attention with different parties concerned with monetary and financial policies in the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

Madbouly said, in a meeting with Finance Minister Mohamed Maait and CBE Governor Tarek Amer, that the government is seeking to maintain the fruitful outcome of the 2016 economic reform program.

He reviewed efforts exerted to attract more investments and solve barriers facing businessmen, as well as encourage the national industry and narrow the balance of trade gap, in addition to rationalizing spending and encouraging consumption.

Amer assured Madbouli that foreign exchange reserves have reached safe levels, contributing to a stable exchange rate.

On his Part, Maait said he appreciates efforts exerted by the CBE governor to implement a number of files in full coordination with the Finance Ministry.
