On Wednesday, sky lovers observed and captured photos of the first full moon phenomenon in 2022 which is the rise of the Full Wolf Moon.

According to ancient American folk narratives and colonial journals, January's moon is called Wolf Moon according to the native American culture as the howls of the wolves reached their climax in this month.

The native Americans justified that hunger and cold are the main reasons for the wolves' cries.

Researchers, later on, discovered that wolves have several primary vocalizations: howls, barks, whimpers, yelps, whines, moans, growls, and snarls.

Moreover, wolves howl for several reasons such as communication, haunting, and marriage.

It is worthy to mention that February's moon is called the Snow Moon due to the final days of winter that witness several fiercely cold and freezing days.

The next full moon will appear on February 16.
