The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced during his first government meeting, on Thursday, 26 November, that he shoulders responsibility not only for what happened, but also for the future status of the country.

“As the Prime Minister of Armenia, I take full responsibility for the current situation, but I realize that I am responsible not only for what has happened so far, but for further developments as well,” Pashinyan  stated.

“The priority and the necessity is to ensure external and internal security and implement the roadmap I published on November 18,” Pashinyan noted.

He has noticed that the government shall focus on restoration of war-affected settlements in Syunik and Gegharkunik marzes.

“The search for the missing and the exchange of POWs are an absolute priority,” he mentioned. “We work on these issues on a daily basis. The main difficulty is that, unfortunately, the effectiveness of this work depends not only on us.”

“The citizens of Armenia must be sure that they are the real decision-maker and they should build the future on this feeling. The people must also decide with whom to build that future, who should play what role in it,” the Armenian PM continued.

“The creative potential of the citizens of Armenia is inexhaustible, and our most important task in the future is to focus that potential on building a new future. We must not allow faith in that future to die. Our daily work must be focused on strengthening, consolidating and developing that faith.”
